Vermont snow skiing Stowe & others
Hi everyone, sorry I have not posted in a while, I’ve been really busy! Well today I’ll talk about skiing in Vermont. Downhill skiing and cross country skiing are very popular in Vermont. Tourist come from all over the world for snow skiing here. Vermont ski vacations are one of the busiest times here. Stowe and Killington are two of the most popular ski resorts towns.
Jay peak and Smuggler’s Notch are two other very popular Vermont ski resorts. The ski resort of Stowe has trails up the side of Mt. Mansfield, which is the state’s highest mountain. I’ll talk about all them in more detail in a bit. Vermont gets a lot of snow in the winter, sometimes a bit too much for those who have to shovel it!
But that makes for some great skiing conditions. Vermont has ski areas all over the state, from the very northern part to the southern area. Skiing conditions are almost always just right, with lots of sunny days and gentle snow storms. The views from the tops of the mountains are spectacular.
Well let me give you some information on several of the biggest ski resorts, then I’ll give you a link to see all of the ones in Vermont.
Stowe ski resorts
The resort town of Stowe is a popular resort year round in the northern part of Vermont. They have many hotels, bed & breakfast Inns, shops and much more. They have a total of 116 ski trials, with everything from bunny trails to extreme skiing. They have 13 lifts, a combination of chair lifts, hi speed quad and gondolas. Vertical drop is 2,360 ft. with an average of 333 inches of snow.
Killington ski resort
Killington is in the central part of Vermont, and has the most area. It has a large resort area with plenty of places to stay and shop. It has a total of 200 ski trails with a bit of everything for skiing level. They have 32 lifts, with chair lifts, high speed quads and gondolas. Vertical drop is 3050 ft. with 250 inches of snow average.
Jay Peak ski resort
Jay peak is the most northern Vermont ski resort, with the most natural snowfall. It has one main central section for places to stay and shop, a bit more quite than other big resorts. It has 76 ski trails and 8 ski lifts. It boast the states only 60 passenger Ariel tramway. It has a 2,153 ft. vertical drop, 366 inches of average snow.

Now Vermont also offers some of the worlds best cross country skiing too. There are miles of cross country skiing trails, many you can get to right from your Inn or hotel.
The restaurants and bed & breakfast Inns have wonderful Vermont quality food, you’ll end up really looking forward to those great meals. Hot pancakes and French toast with that pure Vermont maple syrup poured on top is a great way to start your day! So come on up and plan a Vermont ski vacation.
