Well everyone, I finally made my Vermont fall foliage picture gallery page! It’s got 40 of my best fall foliage pictures I took of this year, 2010. Most are from up in Stowe, Vermont.

I went up the gondola ride and took some nice pictures and videos up there. I also have some of a roadside stand selling all those pumpkins and other fall harvest produce.

Vermont Oktoberfest events and fall activities

Fall activities in Vermont

Vermont holds their Oktoberfest events a bit earlier than other places, due to how fast the fall comes and goes up here! This past weekend was already the big Stowe Oktoberfest events, which I forgot about, sorry.

But all through the month of October all over the state of Vermont will be many fall events and Oktoberfest activities. Below are just some of the Vermont Oktoberfest events going on through the month of October.

Bike Vermont, Biking Vermont with Vermont bike tours

Now that fall is on it’s way, this is the best time of the whole year for biking Vermont! No other place is as scenic and pretty as Fall in Vermont. Vermont bike tours are very busy during the fall with lots of people biking Vermont.

If you want to bike Vermont, you have many choices to choose from. If you like doing things on your own you can grab a map, plot your own biking Vermont route and head out.

Wow, it’s been a long time since I wrote anything on here! The summer has gone by too fast as always and soon it will be Labor Day weekend here in Vermont. That means the end of summer, the start of school and getting ready for fall.

There is not a whole lot of things going on for Labor Day weekend here in Vermont. I know in Northfield Vermont there is a 3 day event with lots of food, music and games going on.

Burlington, Vermont always has a few special events here and there, plus many stores have Labor Day weekend sales. There’s always plenty of flea markets and farmers markets having one last sale also.

Well the Vermont maple sugaring season of 2010 is winding down. It’s always hard to say how well the maple sugar season will be each year. It all depends on the weather, how cold and warm it gets during the nights and days.

The 2010 season is over, but there is lots to pick up, clean up and do. It was an about average year for Vermont maple syrup production. Not a great amount but not too bad.

The actual maple syrup is very good quality, that never changes. It’s how much maple syrup you harvest that makes a great or bad year. It’s a lot of work in a short time, then it’s all over.

So try to pick up some brand new 2010 pure Vermont maple syrup soon and see how great it taste on pancakes, french toast and many other foods. Nothing beats the taste of fresh Vermont maple syrup!

One place that does not get a lot of news coverage for snow skiing is Jay Peak resort in Vermont. Yet it has some really great downhill skiing, including some very fast black double diamond trails.

It has massive amounts of snowfall, spectacular trails and friendly people. Jay Peak is five stars all the way. Whether you enjoy traditional trails or glade skiing, you will find some unique features and fun times on a mountain that still has a mountain–not a resort–feel.

Jay also has an international vibe to it from all the French Canadians. Jay Peak is a great mountain with some of the best tree runs in the east. Powder skiing can be had easily if you know where to look. From a beginner to intermediate perspective the slopes are well-maintained, plentiful and challenging. It has excellent sheltered spots, so that no one endangers your life. For those with minimal skiing ability, this is the place to be.

Well it’s been a long time since I made a post on here, sorry about that. Time goes fast in the fall in Vermont. There are so many things that needs to be done. Besides all the work of getting ready for winter, you want to get outside and enjoy the beautiful fall weather. Also it’s just right for hunting and the last fishing trips of the year.

So I’ve had my hands full! I did get time to go out and take some nice pictures of the fall leaves in Stowe, Vermont. The colors were pretty good this year, bright yellows, oranges and reds. Lots of tourist come up in the fall, leaf peepers we call them. So the tourist areas are busy with them buying lots of apples, cider, apple pies and of course that pure Vermont maple syrup!

I’ve put a bunch of my best fall foliage pictures in here and hope you like them. It was an overcast day out on some of them, so the colors could have been better. But they look nice, it’s always better when your right there of course. So enjoy the following pictures of fall in Vermont! (more…)
